There have been many changes since the Rosary Altar Society came into being in 1914. Its main purpose was to decorate the altar and maintain the altar linens. Much has changed since 1914, but the one thing that has not changed is our reason for being part of this group: our love and devotion to our Blessed Mother and a desire to belong to an organization devoted to her veneration.
So what do we do now as an organization? First and foremost, we answer when our Parish calls and we are called to do many things. Listed below are the many things we have done in the past year:
May and October we led the Rosary after the 12:05 Mass
Ash Wednesday we hosted a Fish 'n' Chips dinner
Palm Sunday: a bake sale
May: we crowned the Blessed Mother and had a baby shower for the Birthright Organization
June: celebrate the anniversary of Rosarians for 25 or 50 years
October: we sponsored a Family Communion Breakfast at the Fiesta Restaurant
November: a bake sale
December: our Installation/Christmas Party
and others . . .
We do many things for our Parish when we are called. The money we raise through our various activities throughout the year is donated to the Parish. We are always looking for new members. All women of the Parish are invited to join.
